A concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of granting voting rights to Azerbaijani women

A concert of Azerbaijani mugam trio was held at Le Palais Bondi Palace, one of the most respected concert halls in Lyon, France, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in France and the French-Azerbaijani Dialogue Association on January 15. The concert was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of of granting voting rights to Azerbaijani women for the first time. Kamila Nabiyeva, a laureate of international competitions, accompanied by honored artists Elshan Mansurov (kamancha) and Alakbar Alakbarov (Tar) skillfully performed our mugams.
Gunel Safarova, chairwoman of the Azerbaijan-France Dialogue Association delivered an opening speech, and thanked the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to France, Rahman Mustafayev, for his support for promoting the rich culture of Azerbaijan in the French regions.
Vagif Agayev, the representative of Azerbaijan ambassador to France delivered a speech at the event. He spoke about the especial activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the protection and recognition of Azerbaijani culture in the world, gave information about mugam and underlined the importance of the Mugam contest, initiated by First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. Representatives of the diplomatic corps, our compatriots, Lin residents and well-known figures of French public attended the event. At the end of the event, chairman of the Azerbaijan-France Dialogue Association, Gunel Safarova, thanked everyone for participating in the event and said that she was proud of playing mugham of Azerbaijan in such prestigious hall in Lyon.
